Remember that part where I said the photo challenges would all be on weekends? Well, it’s Spring already which means longer days and a thousand other reasons to cover up the fact that I failed to post a challenge last Friday. There’s no reason we can’t have a challenge during the week!
As before, the Weekend Weekday Photography Challenge is meant to be simple and fun, like me. There are no big rules and no huge prizes, although I gave Josh somewhere near 1200 points last week. The Challenge isn’t against anyone other than your own imagination. It’s an inner challenge with outward results. So Zen, without the meditation. Or monks. Temples. Rituals. Ok, it’s not very Zen.
This week’s challenge topic will be SHADOWS
For this weekly challenge, you may use one or more of the three concepts/settings on your camera:
- Change to a different Metering Mode
- Use Shutter Speed Mode
- Concentrate on holding your camera properly
You have until Friday at the end of the day to post your results. Again, please including shooting data and some explanation about how you took the shot so everyone here can learn along with you. Thanks!
Last year on my horse, shot with my iphone 🙂

and yes, I was totally concentrating on holding my camera properly…hard to do on a horse!
A fresh attempt.

sorry – the 1st pic ISO 100 1/400
Damn! You work fast!
Hahaha….I went into my yard and started looking for stuff that had shadows. I had to move the orchid though! 🙂 Those are all with no post production, save for cropping.
I really like both the one of Elizabeth on the horse and the photo of the shadow on the flower. Really enjoy the photo challenge look forward to more photos.
aaaah. is this still this week’s challenge? What’s the deadline?
-23,621 points Caroline!!!
🙂
I am going to limit the challenges to just weekends as it seems that works better. This last week’s because someone, who is me, missed Friday. Not this week though!!
OK, look forward to the next one and I am determined to get 23, 622 points at least to get back in the positive numbers!
So sorry, we just seem to keep getting rain clouds. April showers better bring May flowers. Didn’t think to use a light other than the sun. Happy Easter. : )
Shadows contrasting with my granddaughter’s polka dot dress. ISO 200, Shutter speed 400, Aperture WB cloudy.
