The Road To Kings Canyon National Park

Description: The road to Kings Canyon National Park is a windy jaunt away from major roads. That’s one reason it gets about half the visitors as nearby Sequoia National Park.

But it also makes the park an excellent place to visit if you want to get away from crowds.

The park is one road in and out with a river alongside. This makes it an excellent place for hiking or just relaxing with some solitude.

I spent a night camping nearby (not a lot of campground spaces available due to Covid-19) in the Summer of 2021, doing a quick reconnaissance trip to see where I might want to explore when I have more time. This was before the KNP Complex Fire that ravaged neighboring Sequoia and Kings Canyon and is, to this day, still burning (it’s 80% contained).

Location: Sierra Mountains, California, United States, North America
