Seattle has made progress with its waterfront over the last 20 years. It used to be a place some tourists would go but now it is a magnet for activity and exploration.
During the World Cup they had a screen on Pier 62 and the esplanade leading down to the pier from the Pike Place Market was packed with fans. It was a wonderful thing to witness.
For a while I worked at Pier 69 for the Port of Seattle then Pier 70 for Go2Net in the heydays of the dot com boom (and bust). To see the progress from then to now is awesome.
