The Most Beautiful Of Days in White Sands National Park

It’s that time of year/season/computer getting full when I go through an clean out folders. You might see more of this past year’s trips for the next couple of weeks.

From back in Spring, White Sands National Park has been on my list for a while. Originally I planned on hiking in a ways and camping on the sands to catch sunset and sunrise.

What happened in the end is a work trip morphed into a side trip to White Sands and Carlsbad, another on my list. The park doesn’t open until 7am and they have a gate, so no sneaking in. As part of park extends into the White Sands Missile Range, access is a little more restricted. Heck, some days they close the park when the military wants to blow up stuff.

That camping trip is still on my list because this is an exceptional landscape that deserves more time and study.
