Growing up in Washington state, the Rockies always seemed so far away and the Canadian Rockies even more so.
It wasn’t until 2008? or maybe 2009 that I made my first trip to the easy part, Hwy 1 and the general Banff/Canmore area to go ice climbing with my friend Genevieve. Hmmm….let’s see if I have a link to a past post about that.
On my second trip, just last week, I was working but still had time to appreciate the grandiose vistas this whole region offers.
It was enough to install la desire to head back a few more times over the years because the solitude and magnificence of those mountains can’t be overstated enough.
I hope you go up the Icefields Hwy and then along Highway 16 to see more of these spectacular mountains! Then follow Hwy 16 to Prince Rupert and get a whole lot more of BC beauty!
