Bringing a beefy, professional tripod to Alaska wasn’t on the top of my list. I was already packing enough to make sure I stayed comfortable while my wife and I stayed out in the cold looking up.
But there was no way I was not going to bring one. So I compromised and packed a ‘less-than-professional” travel tripod that did the job admirably and packed nicely in my luggage.
Those that know me and my photography style know that I’m not much of a tripod guy. But with 13 second shutter speeds, like this photo, I wouldn’t be caught without one.
