Title: The Aurora Borealis In Alaska

Description: I’ve been to Alaska six times with Uncruise Adventures taking pictures of their boats and teaching photography as a guest host. But never have I seen the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) as I did on my last trip in August. Heck, I’ve never seen them before at all!
It meant being woken up at 12:30am and I stayed up for 3 hours, which made the next day a bit slow. But they are so worth it.
An important note: I was expecting to see what you see above; green and purple lights dancing across the sky. Instead, the colors were muted and pretty much just white. The camera can pick up more light than our eyes and it’s easy to bump up the saturation, hence the photo you see above. I hear in Winter they are more attuned to this picture. I was happy to see them no matter what. They are an amazing display of Nature.
