Title: Remembrance
Location: Los Angeles, California, USA, North America
Description: I’ve driven by this National Cemetery hundreds of times over the years living in LA. Seeing it from I-405, or, more accurately, THE 405, has made me want to stop and explore.
Beyond the obvious interest in symmetry and photography, National Cemeteries have been a draw to me. Sabrina and I visited one in, seemingly, the middle of nowhere Washington and I tried to impart on her the importance of such places.
It is still important to me, to see a generation behind me understand why these cemeteries exist and who these soldiers and seamen were.
This is what sacrifice looks like. And this is often the price war extracts from society.
