Reflections Of A Theme

Description: No. I’m not getting all philosophical on you. The reflection you see in the glass is the Theme Building. That’s the name of the curved building at the middle of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

Honestly, until now I didn’t even know its name. My wife and I went to dinner there over a decade ago before the restaurant at the top shut down. Now the lower part contains the Bob Hope USO.

It was built in the 60s and has since been designated a cultural and historic landmark. As someone growing up outside of LA, it was a distinct landmark that I knew to be LA just like the Space Needle (also built in the 60s) signifies Seattle.

A reflection of the iconic Theme Building at Los Angeles International Airport can be seen in the mirrored glass of Terminal 2.
