Title: Sunset At Margerie And Grand Pacific Glaciers
Location: Glacier Bay National Park, Alaska, USA, North America
Description: Now covered in stone and rubble, the Grand Pacific Glacier (black splotch on right side above waterline) once covered all of Glacier Bay just 250 years ago. That’s a distance of over 60 miles. Soon it will recede across the international border with Canada just behind the mountain on the left.
Margerie Glacier is a stable glacier with massive calving chunks falling daily and is the blue one on the left in the image.
