Photo Of The Day – Punakha Dzong’s Ornate Entrance

Title: Punakha Dzong’s Ornate Entrance

Location: Punakha, Bhutan, Asia

Description: Steep stairs lead up to the entrance of Punakha Dzong.

Built as a fortification, the stairs are a defense strategy to make entrance by invading enemies much harder. Once removed, the steep walls are more easily defended.
