Photo Of The Day – Modern Omani Suburbs

Modern Omani Suburbs, y'all

Title: Modern Omani Suburbs

Location: Qurayyat, Ramlah, Muscat Governate, Oman (23°12’20.529″ N 58°53’59.838″ E)

Description: My experience in Oman was something I would love to recreate. The country felt inviting and more modern than I expected.

Take this photo, for instance. I’ve seen similar housing in other parts of the world, but the buildings here are all fairly new.

New, clean walls. Bright colors. Clean water tanks. Satellite dishes. Gates and new cars.

And more importantly, it’s what you don’t see. Power lines. There are some in the distance for major distribution, but all the houses are serviced by underground power.

I have started two new photography learning series on my other blog: Photography Basics – A 43 Day Adventure, and its companion 40 Photography Experiments. The series are designed to unravel the mysteries of photography, helping you can take better pictures. Subscribe here to receive all the updates and bonus material.
