Caption: Vietnam Veteran Howie Berg of Aspen, Colo., touches the names of fallen comrades at the Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall while it was at Rio Grande Park in Aspen. He said he has been to the Wall in Washington, D.C., several times, and each time feels more healed.
Explanation: As I watched the construction of The Wall, I noticed two things: The whole park was in silence, even as The Wall was being assembled, and people would touch it. The reverence for the structure was phenomenal. Howie, a good friend of mine, was a Vietnam Veteran who lost several good friends. He found the panel that had some of his friends names on it.
