Description: I had the pleasure of teaching photography onboard the Uncruise Adventures‘ SS Legacy last week as it wend its way through the bays and fjords of Southeast Alaska. During that trip we spent a glorious, sun-filled day in Glacier Bay National Park & preserve.
A highlight of any trip to the park is the change to see tidewater, terminal and hanging glaciers along the park’s thousands of miles of coastline.
In the photo above our boat was positioned across from both Margerie and Grand Pacific Glaciers, soaking in their beauty while we broke out our much needed polar fleece and down jackets. I was lucky enough, and prepared enough, to capture a sizable slab of ice break off from the front of the glacier and then subsequently pound into the rocks and water below.
