Kearsarge Lakes And Pinnacles

I’ve found a favorite place in California’s Sierra Nevada Mountains. There will probably be more as this is only my third serious hike into the backcountry of the range adn it is a large range of mountains containing three National Parks and a whole passel of wilderness areas.

Climbing over Kearsarge Pass from the John Muir Wilderness in the Inyo National Forest is the most direct route. While high (the pass is 11,870′) the trail is well built and not too steep. Once over the pass you are officially in Kings Canyon National Park.

Then it is a mere mile down to the lakes and their picturesque setting.

I’ll be sharing more photos and some videos/timelapses soon.

I too climbed Kearsage pass with my family and fished many lakes up there moons ago. One of the many entrances into the Sierra from the bishop side. Once your over the pass it is amazing!
