Healthy Family Travel Tips #9 – Recap The Day

You Zoomed!  You Zipped!  You had one heck of a fun filled, action packed day with your family on the trip that has been planned for months in advance!

Now take a moment at the end of each day, or maybe in the morning before things get hectic, to recap or go over the days events.  It helps cement in the memories before they are flooded over with more from another day of adventure.  It also helps bring out what the experience meant to others in the family and may expose a number of moments that were missed by some.

Here then are some questions to get the family talking and remembering the good and bad from the day:

  • What one memory sticks out most to you?
  • What are you very glad we got to do today?
  • What would you have like to do that we didn’t get to?
  • What’s the funniest thing that happened today?
  • What do you plan to tell your friends about today?
  • Were there any times you felt uneasy today?
  • What’s your favorite family quote from today?

It doesn’t need to be a set in stone meeting each day, unless that is the way your family works.  And the list of questions can go on and on (feel free to add your own in the comment section below!).  The important thing is to take just a bit of time and be thankful for where you’ve been, what you’ve seen and done and that you got to do it together.
