I love that a drone can help me get photos that were technically difficult in the past. For instance, look at this photo.
Not much too special about it, right? Nice kayaks, good angle. I’ve taken the same image from aboard the boat before and that gets boring.
But in the past, to get this photo, would mean launching a skiff and then holding the camera well above my head on a tripod or monopod and then taking some random images, trying to frame it right while not being able to see what the camera sees.
Now, with a drone, I can be 15′ above the water, hovering and taking my time to line up the image.
A lot of the time the sweet spot for a photo is just above the photographer (or height of the photographer). And that’s where drones make hard images easy. And I love that.
