Description: Building on yesterdays Alaskan Layers photo of the day, let’s shift a little south and a little more desolate. Death Valley actually has quite a bit of color in Bad Water Basin and Artist’s Palette, but I love this image for its bleakness. Just hills up on hills of dark tones. Imagine coming across this in the 1800s and wondering how to get past it.
