Description:It’s been a couple of weeks since my first glimpse of Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan–ATLAS) in Yosemite and in that time it has grown dimmer. So dim that this weekend in Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse Point State Park we could only see the comet in photos. or fool ourselves that indirect viewing worked for us.
I was at Dead Horse Point State Park with friends Caleb and Josh to explore the White Rim Trail/Road and take photos. Basically a fun three nights camping in beautiful Utah.
The first night, because of the long drive from LA had us in the state park with excellent campgrounds. Utah is underrated for its state parks or maybe I just never discovered them. Really nice, that one is.
Not only is the comet visible just above the camper and the clouds, the Milky Way makes a strong appearance in Utah’s dark sky nights.
