All The Sun Into One Place

Description: At first I was really excited because I got a photo of a pile of rocks that looks like a elephant, with an arch that defines the trunk.

But I thought maybe it would be too much for most people. Two days of rocks that looks like animals.

So today we have of the other solar collectors at Ivanpah, an array in the desert of California just before you get to Nevada.

The idea is all those panels on the ground are mirrors that reflect sunlight to the tower. The tower is more or less a boiler that super heats a liquid that turns to steam that turns a turbine that makes electricity.

While it looks cool, the plant is not without controversy. Read more on its Wikipedia page for starters.
