Description: While Lhotse is the immediate neighbor to Mount Everest (Sagarmatha), it is in fact the third highest mountain in the world behind K2 in Pakistan.
Not only that, it is also viewable from the trail to Mt. Everest before you see Everest itself, which makes many people mistake it for the Everest. I know I did on my first trek in 2008.
In its own right, being #3, Lhotse is a beautiful mountain on any sunny day in Nepal.
