Title: Twin Giant Sequoias (Sequoiadendron giganteum) Rise Over 200′ Above The Forest Floor
Location: Sequoia National Park, California, USA, North America
Description: Known by various names (giant sequoia, giant redwood, Sierra redwood, etc…) a pair of sequoias grows in a grove that contains the largest tree in the world, by volume. While not growing as tall as their coastal brethren, the coastal redwood (Sequoia sempervirens), sequoias make up in girth, especially that their base. These trees grow in a narrow band from about 5000′ to 7000′ in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California.
