Title: Swirl
Description: Shot May 22, 2009 in Calgary, AB. I love watching people’s reactions when they learn what this is. Ta-da! It’s the nose cone of an airplane engine. I was on a field trip with my daughter to the maintenance department of WestJet airlines, and we learned that the swirl tells the ground crew if the engine is on or off. See the swirl? Engine off. Don’t see the swirl? Engine is on, beware. Cool, huh?
