Title: Flying Across The Alvord Desert
Location: Alvord Desert, Eastern Oregon, USA, North America
Description:ÂBack in my off-roading days I would have the joy of heading into the backcountry with great friends in a variety of vehicles, but mostly Land Rovers of various styles and repair. These aren’t the $60,000 trucks you see in the mall parking lot, these were selected for their ability to take a beating and keep going, often with dents and cracks.
The Alvord Desert was an awesome trip with wide open spaces in Eastern Oregon, even more so when we met the dried lake bed that made up the desert. I let me daughter have a try at the wheel as there was nothing to hit and we could only go 50MPH with the resistance of the playa on our wheels.
The vehicle in the image is my friend Kevan’s Range Rover Classic with rooftop tent skimming across a mirage (one of the first I had witnessed in person).
