Daybreak, Nepal

Description: In the Fall, when the monsoons have left Nepal and the sunshine returns, every day is worth getting up early for sunrise.

And no place is better to capture the glory of morning than high in the Himalayas.

This photo was taken on a photo trek I led in 2013 from a perch known as Mong La. It is a small village of about five tea houses balanced on the edge of a promontory jutting toward the Dudh Kosi river below.

Ama Dablam is seen on the left while Kangtega is on the right.
