Close Up With A Galapagos Land Iguana

Description: Let’s stay with this week’s theme of Galapagos critters, shall we?

Today is a close view of a Galapagos Land Iguana (Conolophus subcristatus). Not a very sexy name, I know, but it’s better than a totally goofy name. Humans….

My Dad was afraid of lizards of all stripes and would have had serious issues with me showing this photo. Can you stand staring down the muzzle of this prehistoric looking iguana?

Very close view of a Galapagos Land Iguana showing all the scales on the front of its face and narrow slits for eyes.

Location: Galapagos, Ecuador, South America
