Description: Not all adventures in Nepal take you to the soaring heights of the Himalayas.
Some take you down to about 300’/100m above sea level and Nepal’s fabled Chitwan National Park.
It’s here you can see Great One-horned Rhinos in their natural habitat.
Sure, a fair number of the beasts have grown accustomed to humans since this area was changed from a royal hunting ground to a national park. But don’t be deceived by the cute, fuzzy ears; these mammoths that can run faster than any human if provoked.

How do you get to incredible viewpoints like today’s photo? With the help of local Nepali Sherpa guides and porters. They are who I rely on for all my local logistics during Far Horizon Photo Tours and I couldn’t teach photography in Nepal without them.
The pandemic has ravaged the tourism industry in Nepal, basically shutting down the Spring 2020 trekking season and, more or less, the Fall 2020 season.
That’s why I started a GoFundMe page to help my friend and lead Sherpa guide, Kami, and the 24 different guides and porters he would normally be hiring to run tours.
It warms my heart and I am extremely thankful for all who have donated as we passed $4000 today!
Take a look at the donor page to place a donation and to be informed about how and when the money is distributed. You’ll be able to see your impact through Kami’s words and photos.
Thank you – pwc
