Title: Blossoms And Plowed Field
Location: Jakar, Bumthang, Bhutan, Asia (27°32’55″ N 90°44’40″ E)
Description:This is one of those images I keep coming back to. I knew when I shot it I would have to crop it, and I have, plus I balanced out the distortion left by my angle to the field (necessitated by the fence I stood behind). I love the simplicity of this shot and the slight contrast in both color and pattern. After everything I have posted recently, from complex mountain images to other travel photos, simplicity in this shot has it a favorite of mine.
Shot in Jakar in the Bumthang Valley, Bhutan on an early morning when the rising sun was a no-show, at least in a dramatic sense. It was March in this photo and the fields were being prepared for planting, often wheat or rice or potatoes and sometimes chili peppers. Another example that you may go out to shoot one thing, but you should always be prepared for something unexpectedly new.
