Title: Forest, Close Up
Location: Glacier Bay National Park, Alaska, USA, North America
Description: Arriving at Bartlett Cove by boat, we took a short walk through the temperate rainforest covering much of Glacier National Park (the parts not covered by glaciers). It reminded me distinctly of the Hoh rainforest in Olympic National Park of my home Washington state and is created in the same manner.

Are you no longer posting you camera settings with the pictures ou post. I miss that!
Sorry, I was posting in a rush between trips. I plan do post more shooting info in the future.
I’m confused, but if you’re in Alaska, I believe you’re in Glacier BAY National Park. Glacier National Park is in Montana.
Yep, I typed wrong and have edited the posts accordingly. I was in Glacier Bay National Park.
Amazin Pic, Peter!
I am trying to figue out how you did that, it seems like the trees on the background are moving…
Did you zoomed in with a relatively long exposure time and freezed the main tree with a flash?
Once again, great pic!!!
It’s an illusion created by a 14 mm wide angle on a full frame camera with a wide open aperture (f/2.8). It’s caused by the distortion around the edges coupled with the blur caused by the shallow depth of field.
