For those of you looking for more photography learning, have I an offer for you.
I’m teaming up with MatadorU to offer their Travel Photography Program, a $350 course, to one lucky winner of a random drawing here on The Carey Adventures. For those looking to possibly make travel photography a career or another opportunity to make some cash from what you’re most passionate about, this course is a great stepping stone. Packed with a lot of the basics you’ve seen here in my 31+ Days To Better Photography, the MatadorU program then ventures into the marketing side of travel photography.
The course is self-paced and spread over 12 weeks, with access to the material once modules are done, so there’s no need to worry about missing items if you happen to be off traveling (or just busy with life). Take a look at their site for more information on the course. And now, some rules:
Anyone worldwide may enter as long as they are legally able to win such a prize in their country. One entry per person. Only actual humans can enter. The drawing will be held on, or about, Monday the June 6th. I will use Random.org to pick a winner based on the order of entry. Deadline to enter is Monday, June 6th, 2011 at 9:00pm PDT. MatadorU is not directly affiliated with the drawing, they are just the prize. The prize is tuition for 1 (one) person and I will be putting you in contact with MatadorU for claiming of the prize. Make sure your email address in the comment below is valid, otherwise, if your mail bounces and I can’t get a hold of you any other way, I will award the prize to another random commenter.
To enter, do one good thing for someone else, without them asking you to do it, and then leave a comment below. The comment need not be about the good thing you did at all. And the level of goodness does not matter as it’s a random drawing. I just think I should use this pulpit to force you to be nice. :)
Good luck!

UPDATE!
And the winner drawn at random from random.org last night by my daughter is…………#8 Henrik!! Henrik, I will be sending you an email to get more information and transfer this prize to you.
Thank you to everyone for taking a moment to do something nice for someone else. It’s always worth it.

Made homemade banana bread for my colleagues at my office just cuz.
Great idea and thank you for the reminder to do good deeds – today I drove my teammates to practice, I gave compliments and “good jobs” to people who deserved it and needed to hear it. Tomorrow I intend to do more because this really hit home for me that I did not do as much as I could have today to make a difference. Thanks for the opportunity and the reminder.
Recently a friend of mine died of cancer. Her dying wish was that my husband and I move in with her 82 year old widower so that he would not be lonely. We live in Panama and he has no other relatives in the country. We moved out of our house to move in with him to provide companionship and love as he heals during this tender time in his life. It has been a blessing to us as we are learning the true meaning of giving of ourselves. When it comes down to life and death, all we have to give is ourself.
I teach free English lessons to school children in Ukraine.
I noticed that one of my favorite ladies at the Hotel I stay in hasn’t been to work for a while – her colleagues said she wasn’t well, so I got her a card, wishing her well. We should all be grateful for the health we enjoy!
I didn’t see anyone today, so I couldn’t do anything good to anyone. But I will share this on Twitter, does it count? =)
Very nice idea !! good luck and continue to post stunning pictures
This is awesome. Thank you Peter and congratulations to whoever wins!!
My coworker and friend and I Prayed over a patient receiving comfort care measures only. Every now and then a patient comes along and truly touches your heart. I am Blessed to be in Healthcare.
I made a point of inquiring after everyone’s day in my building that I saw this weekend. I think it really perked some of them up just having someone express interest in their lives. As a bonus, I got to know a few more of my neighbours!
What a great idea: where a random act of kindness will still reward the giver even if they don’t win the drawing :)
Thanks for the give away. I could definitely use the lessons on how to take better photos!
Great idea and nice way to encourage people to do good things. Sometimes it just takes a small gesture to bring a smile to face. Thanks for the give away and the class on Saturday was awesome.
What a wonderful thing you are doing for someone! i picked up pine needles in the rain… just to be nice.
helped my mom pay the vet bill.
Long lines @ grocery store & slow checkers…cost us nothing to let man w/ 1 item go ahead of us. He thanked us twice. Is courtesy so rare now we are surprised by it? Gl e1
Hi Peter~! I already did one but I thought I share another one with you~! Today I went to my son’s workplace to pick up some paperwork and money to help him get a ticket paid and to get an important piece of paperwork that would be beneficial to him. So I am on my back to his place of work and just before I take the turn to his street I see something in the road and try to miss it…. Front tire missed it but my back tire hit it as I was making the turn. I get to his work and give him the paperwork he needs and get back in the car and proceed to leave….. “thump thump~!” Oh nooooooo~! Damn it I have a back tire flat…..~! Calgon take me away~!!!
What is the formality to join this course?
