Summer’s here! And with it I’ve been traveling for a week and a half, with another week to go. You might have noticed the Photo Of The Day has been quiet along with other posts on this site. I took off for Costa Rica and decided I could use some time off. Really time off. It’s hard when working a freelance lifestyle to step away because it’s always there, just a computer away from ‘getting work done’. So this trip was time at a surf camp on the Pacific Coast and a chance to unplug.
I’m now in Colorado prepping for a press trip for the next 6 days showing us the H2O side of the state: rafting, kayaking, hot springs, paddleboarding, zip lines, rodeo and more. It should be a non-stop cavalcade of all things cool in the Roaring Fork Valley and I’m looking forward to sharing some here on The Carey Adventures.
When I return to Washington at the end of the month I look forward to revving up posts on this site a bit. And that means:
- New photos on the Photo Of The Day, which will never die, but does like a good surfing vacation now and then
- More Travel posts. I have a number of tips, tricks, anecdotes and stories which are begging for the light of day. More of that in July.
- “Why and How” weekly feature. I will highlight a photo I shot and explain Why and How I shot it, hoping it may be of use to those who often ask me this in person.
- Continuing 31+ Days To Better Photography! Yes, I have some gaps to fill and will be doing so throughout July.
- Weekend Photograph Challenges restart. I let this go while on vacation and I know a number of you really like working on them, even if you aren’t posting your shots (and sending me an email instead, which works just fine).
I also want to know what YOU would like to see on this site in July and August. I will be around most of those months, shooting some weddings, teaching photography workshops and posting more quality content on this blog. I’d love to hear what would help you most to see on this site, be it photography, travel, parenting or the like. Let me know in the comments below and I look forward to putting out quality words and photos in a week!

Peter hope you had a great vacation. As to what I would enjoy seeing would be some teaching or tutorials on Lightroom, or other smaller budget tools. Look forward to seeing some more of your work.
