It’s only day two in Kathmandu and already my boogers are black. Soot, dust, diesel exhaust. It gets in there and the nose does what it’s supposed to; picks up and transmits the odors of rotting garbage, piles of poop lying around (cow, goat, chicken, etc…), and fresh meat cooking. But it also stops stuff from coming in. If you’ve been to any crowded city in a country with ;ax emissions standards, you know what I’m talking about. It’s choking at times and I try to hold my breath to avoid the belch from a truck passing by, but what am I to do? In hale an extra large gulp of thickened air to avoid more?
It’s only for awhile in my case. I head to the hills and fresh Himalayan air in two days. But Kathmandu will always be here for those that live in the smog.

Black boogers? Yuk :-) I hope you are having a great time Peter. Keep the post coming. We are all sittin’ by our PC’s waiting for your next exploit!
