As I’m getting into the packing frenzy I thought I’d take a moment to update y’all on the up coming summer plans you can expect to see here at The Carey Adventures!
- MEXICO!! – Unlike Mr. Taylor, I have ever, ever been and I’d sure like to go, again! Sabrina and I are heading down to Zihuatenjeo (which I just spelled correctly for the first time in a month) for a bit of R&R. We don’t have a lot planned and are hanging out with our friends Dan and Amy and their kids Lucia and Cody. Some beach hiking, some beach sitting, maybe some sailing, maybe a dive or two for me, who knows. Sabrina wants to hang by the pool, that I know for sure. It’ll be hot, but we don’t plan on moving that fast. We’re leaving in two days, so I feel a lot like Mara in her recent post about packing and getting ready for a trip.
- HELL’S CANYON – Todd, over on Northwest Overland Society, is organizing an offroad trip to Hell’s Canyon and I’m planning on riding shotgun and shooting pictures. As well as doing some writing on the area. Like Mexico, I’ve been there once about 12 years ago and am looking forward to exploring the area more in depth. We’ll be spending 5 days in the area and I may extend the trip with a couple days of climbing at City of Rocks in Idaho before the trip.
- Travel Blog Exchange 2009 Seattle To Chicago Roadtrip!! – This is the longest title by far and it even has its own website! Pam, Kelly and I are loading up a ?????( we still need a car/truck of some kind if anyone has one to lend) and heading to Travel Blog Exchange 2009 in Chicago. We’ve got an itinerary set in quicksand and looks a little like this. If you have any suggestions of things to do, places to stay or want to offer up your front lawn to a few smelly campers, we’d love to hear from you!! We are also using the hashtag #tbexrt on Twitter.
- AUGUST – August is up in the air but my general plan is to pick up Sabrina in Pennsylvania, maybe, and then roadtrip home or take the train. Still not sure.
And there it is, the summer laid out, kinda. All things subject to change, but it’s a start. Should be a good time! I’ll be sure to have updates on this site as I go and plan to take many, many photos to keep the Photo Of The Day fresh and new. Onward!!
