Rachel,
I remember trying stuff a long time ago and it was a big pain. I've since used Dragon for a couple more posts and am getting used to working with it. Is it more efficient? Right now, probably not for me. But it does change my thought process slightly, which is cool.

Nellie, Good question! I'm not sure about accents, but there is the ability to train it. :)

Elora, I'm in a fairly noisy place for being in a home (my PC is loud) and it does OK. When my daughter is on my lap and slightly talking, yeah, everything goes out the window.

That is so funny :) I think that to make voice recognition software work you have to be in a soundproof room and speak very very slowly... but it will be fantastic to have it in the future!

Oh funny! Your post made me giggle a lil bit. Sounds exciting, imagine how it'll recognize what I say with my accent! That brings up a point - is it adapted to the American accent?

Interesting experiment. I remember training some very old speech recognitition software, you had to read out a particular passage to teach it your voice, and it was terrible! Technology has improved a lot. But personally, I think I edit/rewrite too much to find it useful for blogging.
