After taking some feedback from viewers of The Carey Adventures’ Photo Of The Day, I’ve started expanding my input on how certain shots were taken and post-processed. As some of you know I also write for various websites, including Digital Photography School and Tuts+. This morning I was pleasantly surprised to find a new post on both sites from material I had submitted.
On DPS there is my article telling how you can install GIMP (something of a freeware version of Photoshop, and yes I know that explanation isn’t complete :) ) on a portable device, include the memory card in your camera. I use GIMP while on the road and some times at home because it is straight forward and lightweight.
Next is a How I Shot It article for the image below which appeared as the Photo Of The Day on November 24th. The article is entitled Getting Phenomenal Nature Shots With A Wide Angle Lens and highlights shot setup as well as what I did in Photoshop Lightroom afterwards to adjust the image.
I hope you enjoy both articles and I’ll do what I can to keep posting “How I Shot It” information with the Photo Of The Day posts here on The Carey Adventures.
