   I know why it is intriguing: That “ball” appears to bend reality. I look at it, and it appears to flip between concave and convex in shape. If you hadn’t explained that it was a ball, I might have guessed it was a portal to another dimension, hovering slightly above the wooden post (and after this week, I might be willing to jump in). But the thing I find most interesting about it is that it doesn’t appear to share the same light source as anything else in the shot. It’s almost like it’s lit from within.

   I love that a shot like this can trigger a whole science fiction storyline in my head. Now I feel inclined to go write a story.
