The sky in this image was originally just about blown out so I wanted to bring back the blue I saw that day. In Adobe Lightroom I adjusted:
Highlight Recovery +95
Black Clipping +15
Brightness +5
Contrast +23
Aqua Saturation +60
Blue Saturation +64

Woa what a beauty!
I want to learn more about photography.. your site is a good start. Just bought a new camera Nikon D5000.
Gotta start somewhere eh?? :-))
Lightroom has enhanced the blue of the sky, however, I think, the black clipping is over-shot. the trees look more black than green. Masking would have helped I guess
Giovanni,
I can see what you mean about the clipping, but that is the look I wanted. That day was sweltering and the sun was very intense, so I wanted to make sure the shadows were paramount as I remembered them. I agree though, sometimes when I go for the realistic feel when I took the shot, it’s not always a well balanced shot traditionally speaking.
