Never let it be said that I’m quick to just on new technology. In the case of Flickr, I’m a bit slow. I have had an account for a while and played with it, but preferred to post photos on my own site at http://hiddencreekphoto.com instead. Well, now I’m branching out and starting to use Flickr more. As I do more varied projects (Alyse Black’s recording sessions, concerts, events, model shoots, etc…) I think it’s a good place to showcase some of the work and do the old networking thing. With that in mind, look me up at http://www.flickr.com/photos/hiddencreekphoto and I’ll be sure to add you to my contact list.
Jumping on the Flickr Train

I’m actually in the process of abandoning Flickr for a bunch of reasons.
1) The site is really a closed box and it is very difficult to drive traffic to your site from Flickr. The effort you have to put into working groups is better spent in other places.
2) They are a supermarket for people looking to steal images. Lot of people ignore the licensing you attach to images and they offer now control over what size you offer nor do they offer watermarking.
3) No customization.
I’ve moved to Smugmug and as a photo host I’ve found them to be much better. You do lose something in the social networking area, but I’ve always found the Flickr groups to be sort of shallow, so that’s no big loss for me.
