The US Postal Service has made it easier than ever to hold you mail for a short or longer trip. The form is now entirely online and can be filled out as late as the day before the hold is needed.

The hold can be placed for 3 to 30 days and you have the option to either pick up your accumulated mail or have it delivered. If you need a hold for longer you’ll need to contact your local post office with this form. PO Boxes need not worry as mail is allowed to accumulate for 30 days any way. We have used this service before and it is quite handy to have all your mail delivered after a week long trip.
