As you can see from Sabrina’s post above…..I slept in. A lot. It felt good though, the bed was very comfy.
We took the bus into New York and then the C train up to the American Museum of Natural History. it’s real nice to be able to get off the subway and walk right into the ticket line for the museum. Sabrina and I had our sites set on the Mythic Creatures exhibit which closes tomorrow but it was all sold out. Not to have our spirits dampened, we moved on to the dinosaurs which Sabrina loves.
We then worked our way to the Africa exhibit which I liked a lot and thought was quite well done. Then more meandering; Asia, Mexico and Central America, more Africa, South America…..by then we were running out of time with the PA system calling for closing time. We left in a great mood as we knew we weren’t going to see everything, but caught the things we really wanted to and enjoyed our time together, never getting on each other’s nerves.
We tried to catch the subway back to the Port Authority before 6:15 but missed our bus by 2 minutes. So we decided to grab some food at a local pizza joint (and Sabrina got a good introduction in the more colorful ways to use the English language to voice your disgust at another person from a patron there) and then headed to Time Square for some entertainment. Sabrina wondered why they had twinkling lights when they already had so many bright lights. We took a mock picture in front of McDonalds to try to convince Kim that is where we ate, but it didn’t work, she was too smart for us. 
All in all, I had a great day hanging out with Sabrina and just exploring. She was always upbeat (thanks Kim for packing a fruit roll in her pocket!!) and eager to check everything out. We had a fun time bonding and just enjoying life.
