Ah the day after Christmas…..hopefully for you it was a time to relax as it was for us. Most of the day was spent making turkey soup and turkey broth. Kim has a good knack for using up the last bits of most meals. Out of the carcass of my parents’ turkey dinner last night came over 5 gallons of broth and a few days meals of turkey soup. yum!!
When Sabrina went over to Quinn’s house to check out his new toys (remember how much fun it was to check out the other kids’ new toys the week after Christmas?) Kim and I decided to take a walk to the backside of our property. Out neighbor Judy recently had some paths put in on the back of her 40 acres and had been mentioning how nice it was to be able to use that land now. She mentioned being able to get close to the osprey and heron nests she has on her wetlands and invited us to adventure around as we might enjoy it as well. With the dogs in tow (literally as Yukon has been getting out and getting a LOT more exercise, thus, increasing his ability to nearly pull Kim to the ground) we headed back for some rather mucky wanderings. The sun had set but twilight had not stolen the scene and enjoyment of the paths. The hike was quite enjoyable and I’m tempted to take the Land Rover back in there and see how it does on the uphill sections. :) The walk did us good and was probably around 1.5 miles all in all. Not bad for only heading over to your neighbor’s property.
